France vs. Denmark - Betting tips, predictions, and odds
France and Denmark will close Round 2 in Group D at the FIFA World Cup when they face at Stadium 974. here you can take a look at the best France vs. Denmark betting tips and predictions.
H2H, form, and stats
France and Denmark have faced 14 times so far, and the current record is W8, D1, L5 in France’s favor. However, Denmark was better in the last two H2H duels, both of which were played in 2022, while the Danish Dynamite is without a loss in the previous three H2Hs. At World Cups, these teams have met on three occasions, and each side recorded a win with one draw. They played in the group stage four years ago in Russia; that game ended without goals as both teams progressed to the Round of 16.
France began the defense of its World Cup title in style with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Australia. It didn't look like they will have an easy game, though. The Socceroos got to an early 1-0 lead, but Didier Deschamps’ men didn't lose their cool and stayed calm as they knew the result and goals will come.
That approach proved to be in place as France answered with two goals in the space of five minutes through Adrien Rabiot and Olivier Giroud, while Kylian Mbappe and Giroud scored in the space of three minutes midway through the second half to set the final score. Even though they won, Les Bleus won just two of the previous seven matches (D2, L3).
Denmark failed to score in its World Cup opener against Tunisia as the game finished 0-0. Tunisia was actually a better team in the first half, but Denmark managed to establish domination in the second 45 minutes. Still, that better display in the second half didn't bring a goal for Kasper Hjulmand’s men, so they will be looking for the first goal in the competition on Saturday against France. Denmark won five of the last eight games (D1, L2).
Injuries and squad news
France doesn't have luck with injuries before and now early at this World Cup. First they lost Karim Benzema and Christopher Nkunku, and now Lucas Hernandez tore his ACL early in the game against Australia and will not be able to play against Denmark. Not only that, he will not feature at the World Cup and in this season anymore.
Theo Hernandez, his brother, came as a sub and will likely start on Saturday. Olivier Giroud is a man to watch for one simple reason. With two goals against Australia, Giroud equaled Thierry Henry’s record of 51 goals for France, and now only needs one more to become the best goal-scorer in the history of this nation.
Denmark also lost a player for the remainder of the World Cup. Thomas Delaney sustained a knee injury late in the first half and is ruled out for the rest of the tournament. Mikkel Damsgaard substituted him and will probably start in the midfield alongside Christian Eriksen and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.
Head coach Kasper Hjulmand could decide to change something in the attack as both Kasper Dolberg and Andreas Skov Olsen didn't offer a lot against Tunisia. Martin Braithwaite, Andreas Cornelius, and Yussuf Poulsen are waiting for their chance, and it wouldn't be surprising seeing one of them in the starting XI against France.
France vs. Denmark Betting predictions and odds
France is a favorite against Denmark on Saturday and the odds on Les Bleus to win are 1.82. You can bet on Denmark at 4.56 if you believe they will beat France for the third consecutive time, while a draw is at 3.48. In case you don't like betting on the winners and prefer goals instead, you can back Over 2.5 goals at 2.11 or Under 2.5 goals at 1.72.
Our best tip for France vs. Denmark game
France has a better team or at least higher-quality individuals, but they didn't show that in the last two H2H encounters in the UEFA Nations League this summer. Denmark beat France in both, scoring two goals in each match.
It seems that Kasper Hjulmand knows a proper recipe on how to defeat France, so we wouldn't bet on the world champions here. After all, they wouldn't be unsatisfied with a draw, just like four years ago in Russia. Only this time we hope it’s not going to be a scoreless stalemate. We’re going with goals on both ends.
